David graduated with a BA degree from Brigham Young University in 1967, and obtained his Law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1970. He practiced in Kelowna, B.C. for 22 years, his legal career encompassing most areas of law, towards the latter part, exclusively civil litigation. For the six years prior to his leaving Kelowna (in 1992), he was a member of the School Board (three years as a Chairman). After serving as the Vancouver Director for the Legal Services Society, he moved to Victoria in 1994 and now practices in the areas of family law, personal injury law, and general litigation.
