Dunstan was born and educated in South Africa where he practiced as a Corporate and Financial Lawyer before coming to Canada in 1982. He joined Davis and Company (a major Vancouver law firm) where he practiced in the areas of bankruptcy, receiverships, collections, estates and wills, corporate, financial and land law, advising financial institutions, corporations and small business enterprises. He has considerable experience in the area of administrative law and recently completed a six year appointment as a Commissioner with the B.C. Securities Commission. Dunstan is a qualified mediator.

Kelly graduated from the University of Victoria and has been in practice since 1985. She maintains a general solicitor’s practice, focusing primarily in the areas of real estate, corporate, commercial, wills and estates, and contract law. She has been closely involved with the residential construction industry in Victoria and in particular with the Victoria Home Builders’ Association. She acted for many builders, developers and trade contractors in real estate and corporate matters. Kelly has also developed her practice recently to include entertainment law.

Associate Fiona Hughes joined Browne Associates in May of 2011, after practicing with another local law firm for some years. Fiona completed her undergraduate degree at Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario and received her law degree from the University of Ottawa, after completion of her final year at the University of Victoria. Prior to her articles in Victoria and call to the bar in British Columbia Fiona articled at a busy downtown Toronto firm.

Fiona’s practice includes residential and commercial real estate as well as wills and estates. She is also practicing in the area of matrimonial law. She meets with area real estate professionals to share information on topics of current interest and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, skating and snow skiing throughout the winter.

Crystal has practiced primarily family law since her call to the B.C. bar in 1992. She qualified as a family mediator in 1998, was a founding member of the Victoria Collaborative Family Law Group in 2000 and obtained her Family Law Mediator accreditation in 2014.
From her call, Crystal has practiced in a neighbourhood law firm, and is very happy to now serve the Browne Associates’ neighbourhood.
Crystal’s working life has focused on the law. She graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Honours in English) from the University of Regina in 1980, and was Editor with Legislative Drafting in Saskatchewan until 1988 when she began her studies toward her Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria.
Outside of her law practice, Crystal is proud to be a long-time volunteer for Family Services of Greater Victoria which provides a wide range of caring, timely and effective services for all family members facing change and challenges in their relationships
